Dermoscopy is the close-up examination of the skin and toenails using a specialised microscope (a dermatoscope).

The device is critical in determining suspicious from benign lesions on the foot and can inform whether onward referral is indicated. 

Felicity has a specialist interest in dermatology and regularly undertakes further training in dermatology and dermoscopy in order to develop her clinical knowledge.  She has a top of the range dermatoscope she uses in clinic.

 

Photos can be taken and applied to your electronic record for surveillance and/or sent with a referral to your GP or dermatologist.
