Onyfix is a Class 1 Medical Device offering revolutionary, painless correction of ingrowing or involuted nails without the need for surgery.
 

Onyfix uses a hardened composite material which is cured by a LED light and acts like a brace on the nail plate. This ensures that the nail remains in the correct shape as it grows from the base of the nail until the end, thus reshaping the pathway for the new nail growth.

Toenail Bracing can be used to correct painful ingrowing or involuted nails. to treat splits in the nails and to encourage a detached nail plate to reattach to the nail bed.
 

The Onyfix system is cured to your toenail for up to 12 months (NB: an average large toenail grows 1mm per month). As the toenail grows, the Onyfix brace will apply a gentle pressure to the nail plate, encouraging the nail to flatten out - thereby easing the pressure from ingrown and involuted toenails.  During this period additional bands can be applied to the toenail to ensure that the desired result is obtained.
 

The regularity of repeat appointments and the time required for the brace to correct your toenail varies from person to person. I would suggest a review every 3 months or so, where an additional band may need to be applied to your nail.

 

The Initial Assessment includes a full podiatry review and up to two braces are included in the initial appointment fee (£75).  45 minute follow-ups are advised to allow for a full treatment and reapplication of brace/s and the application of any additional bands that may be required.

Once complete, the composite is removed and the nail continues to grow naturally.

Although a 'bare' nail is required for application, you can wear nail polish whilst the brace is in place.

​

A management plan will be discussed and all treatments are completed with the application of an hydrating Gehwol® foot spray and relaxing foot massage.​

 

Please note

If you have any problems with the brace within 48 hours of your appointment, the band will be removed or replaced for free.  Outside of this time, a further charge will apply.

 

Additional Charges
Bands applied to other toenails will incur an additional  £5 fee per brace. 

If a referral or letter is required and cannot be completed during your appointment, this will incur a further £15 - £30 admin fee depending on time required to complete the task/s.

For follow-up appointments, all additional devices (e.g. Bland-Rose toe props, removable felt props, animal wool, heel pads), insoles, creams and some medicaments (e.g. silver nitrate) will incur nominal further charges.
